The Silent Hill saga returns through the front door

Silent Hill has come back, and now we have a stronger foundation for the future of the franchise. Konami is returning to the series in a rebooted way through their front door.
Konami is putting a lot of effort into revitalizing the Silent Hill series. They’re releasing multiple games, a feature film, and even remaking the second game in the series! We’re here to review what this new generation of horror has given us.
Silent Hill 2 Remake
Bloober Team has acquired the rights to resurrect what is considered by many one of the best horror video games in history. Those responsible for Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, and The Medium (among others) will transfer James Sunderland to a new generation. Just as no release date has been set, what we do know is which platforms the game will arrive on: PlayStation 5 and PC. On console it will be temporary exclusive for 12 months at least.
Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka are closely involved in the project. Both offer assistance to Bloober Team, making it possible for them to come to fruition. The camera will be over the shoulder, the gameplay will reflect a modernized style, and we’ll see what that means for classic Survival Horror. We’ll find out later.
Silent Hill F
Silent Hill F will be the new installment by right of the saga. It’s written by Ryukishi07, who are behind the classic horror visual novels Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Umineko no Naku Koro ni. The story is set in a typical Japanese town in the 60s and has intrigue as its main character. The trailer for Silent Hill F terrifies you to your bones. We’re excited to know more details about this upcoming release!
Silent Hill Townfall
Third in the night, first by Annapurna Interactive. “No Code” will be lead designer of Nay Interactive, who have already published their own developments like Stories Untold and Observation, to explore terror in their gameplay style. This game will have no information revealed in the teaser trailer.
Silent Hill Ascension
The franchise passes on new stories that you can discover. Genvid will be in charge of bringing Silent Hill to a bigger and better way with the upcoming “Silent Hill Ascension.” The streaming program company helps shape the canon for the saga and is released nearly every day. We do not know which platforms or services it’ll be released on, but its managers suggest it’ll be released 27 years from now.
Return to Silent Hill
Silent Hill is something that manages to find ways to reinvent itself and gain new audiences. For returning audiences, “everything will be so fresh” in the film’s story and visuals for it to feel like a return: “The creature designs will be similar and with a slight fresh twist.” Filming has been scheduled for next year.
