7 Great Places to Visit in Abu Dhabi – Lear More

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is one of the seven emirates that make up the country and has been serving as its capital since 1971. This diverse city offers plenty of options for entertainment, shopping, dining, and sightseeing to all of its residents and visitors alike. You’ll find everything from traditional Arabic culture to some of the latest trends in Western fashion. Here are seven great places to visit in Abu Dhabi that will help you get an idea of what this amazing city has to offer.

1) Yas Island

Yas Island is home to one of Abu Dhabi’s most important landmarks—Yas Marina Circuit, a state-of-the-art racing circuit that opened in 2009. The venue was designed with hosting Formula One races and other sporting events as its main purpose. There are also some exciting attractions on Yas Island, such as Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and YasWaterworld (an indoor water park). Many tourists choose to book hotel rooms near Yas Island so they can visit all of these attractions without needing a vehicle.

2) Ferrari World Theme Park

If you’re looking for a place to visit in Abu Dhabi that has something for everyone, it would be difficult to beat Ferrari World Theme Park. This massive family attraction has several distinct areas—including sections devoted entirely to kids and teens—so there is plenty of fun on offer no matter what age or interest you have. The park features some of the fastest and most exhilarating rides around. There are also plenty of exhibits covering everything from Formula One racing history and Ferrari model cars, too. It’s hard not to leave feeling inspired by F1 legends like Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher, among others.

3)  Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is the world’s first ever, Warner Bros. branded indoor theme park, featuring six distinctively themed areas – each inspired by a different hit Warner Bros. franchise – Scooby-Doo, DC Comics and Hanna-Barbera. When you enter the park, you will be transported back to our childhoods as you experience many of your favourite stories in an immersive experience. Inspired by the values of family entertainment and quality, Warner Bros. Abu Dhab is designed to be a leisure destination for families. Warner Bros The Land of Your Favourite Characters is full of thrilling rides and interactive games, where you’ll experience stories brought to life in an all-new way.

4) Corniche Beach Abu dhabi

The Corniche is by far one of my favorite places for a run or a long walk. Located on Corniche Road along Abu Dhabi’s waterfront, it’s a 3-mile stretch of paved beach road lined with palm trees and lampposts that go on for miles into both directions. I love watching nightfall come down over across from Emirate Palace Hotel, with massive ships cruising out from behind it and then being able to see planes flying directly above you while they land at nearby Abu Dhabi International Airport. The Corniche Beach can get busy during peak times, but thankfully you’ll never find any shortage of spots in terms of finding a place to sit.

5) Heritage Village

Heritage Village is one of those rare places where you can get a feel for what Abu Dhabi was like as recently as two decades ago. The village, founded by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, features a number of popular landmarks and buildings, including historical mosques, cultural centers and educational institutions. It’s also home to an extensive library that houses volumes of old Arabic books and manuscripts. Heritage Village serves as a great place to learn about Emirati culture while also exploring scenic areas throughout the city.

Qasr Al-Watanand Emirates Palace

Qasr Al Watan, the Palace of the Nation, is Abu Dhabi’s new cultural landmark and a symbolic representation of UAE national identity. It aims to increase cultural understanding by providing visitors with an immersive insight into Arabian heritage, governance and culture. Qasr Al Watan houses national archives including historical documents and manuscripts that record the country’s journey to union in 1971. Visitors will be able to enjoy daily organised tours through the palace, as well as attend lectures, exhibitions and public programing throughout the year

Emirates Palace

The Emirates Palace hotel was commissioned by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, as a gift to Abu Dhabi. Residence of choice for the royal family and visiting Heads of State, this world-class destination offers five-star amenities including a Helicopter pad with direct access to the beach, a spectacular 1.3 million gallon water fountain synchronized to music, and stunning interiors that blend classic European elegance with modern Middle Eastern charm. The interior is characterized by handmade marble columns and stately foyers that are graced with Murano glass chandeliers and shimmering crystal floors. The unique architecture includes one of the largest unsupported domes in the world and the largest convention hall in Abu Dhabi.

7) Sheikh Zayed Mosque

The majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi towers over the desert capital, and is considered one of the most impressive buildings in the world. When it opened in 2007, 6,000 workers collaborated to make this style of Ottoman architecture available for public visitation. Not only does the largest mosque in Abu Dhabi offer a place of worship for its people, it is also designed as a venue where visitors can learn about Islam and Islamic culture.
